Can parents take away a car from a minor if they did not purchase it

Parents cannot legally take away a car from a minor if they did not purchase it. As a minor, the individual is not legally able to own property, including a car. Therefore, if the car was purchased by someone other than the parent, the parent does not have the legal right to take it away from the minor. However, if the minor is still living under the parent's roof and the parent is providing financial support, the parent may be able to make rules about the use of the car, such as requiring the minor to follow certain driving restrictions or to maintain good grades in school in order to continue using the car.
